Alternative medical degrees 'harm' universities
The increasing number of courses in subjects such as homeopathy, acupuncture and Chinese medicine is "besmirching the reputation" of the country's higher education system, they say.--telegraph.co.uk

About this topic, I feel very complicated, As Chinese acupuncturist , from the home of acupuncture , I would just like to say that acupuncture technique itself maybe not very highly professional and technical, but the problem is that using acupuncture to treat patients, To a large extent, the standard treatment, scientific, accurate and safe, acupuncture results does not depend on your technique level, the more dependent on the level of medical professionals, including of course the professional standards of Chinese medicine and modern medicine professional standards.

In China, if practitioner haven't medical licence ,he can't practise acupuncture for patients , To get practising licence, need to go through many difficult years of professional study, after many, many times the examination and selection, then ,you can pick up the acupuncture needles are eligible for the treatment of patients, why? » This is because acupuncture is only a tool for the treatment of disease, but the real level of treatment is to go through the formal institutions of higher learning training, years of experience can be reflected, and this is perhaps the country's different.

So,anyway,In future,we can have good answer about it.

Does alternative medicine generate more good than harm? Two leading scientists give their verdict.--Dailymail

Although acupuncture carries some common and serious risks, it is important to stress that the common risks are not at all serious and the serious risks are not at all common - they need to be seen in the context of the millions of treatments given each year.

Moreover, the serious risks can be minimised by visiting a medicallytrained acupuncturist who has a full knowledge of anatomy and uses disposable needles.
