Today, inversion therapy can no longer be called an alternative treatment because it has been the subject of a great deal of clinical study. Inversion therapy has been proven to help relieve many forms of back and neck pain including the following: Bulging Disc ,HerniatedDisc Chronic Back Pain ,Lower Back Pain, Neck Pain Pulled Back Muscles SIJoint Dysfunction, Facet Joint Dysfunction, Spondylolisthesis ,Sciatica..............
Seems Great, but a lot of people stll don't understand it and want to know it's so good????
I was wondering if anyone has used an inversion table and experienced significant pain relief? My physical therapist suggested it might benefit me.
I have a inversion table and my Doctor told me to use it every day for 3 minutes. This is all it takes to achieve results. I have had it now for about 7 months and my son and I use it religiously. It has helped. It works alot like traction, you feel the results about an hour later, maybe 30 minutes. It helps me stand taller and I feel like I am doing something. It may all be in my head but we think it is a good thing.
whether it will alleviate any pain you may be experiencing due to your scoliosis is highly questionable. Scoliosis is not a problem with compression. It might feel good to "fight gravity" for a few minutes, but this benefit won't last. It certainly won't straighten your spine, if that's your goal.
I'm using this inversion table for almost six months now and also for back pain relief. Inversion therapy involves hanging upside down to apply gentle traction to the spine.
whatever you do-> find one that can hang you from your waist, and NOT your ankles. It has been very damaging to my knee ligaments
You would have to check with your doctor about the advisability of using the inversion table depending on the exact results of the echo test. In general hanging upside down has no adverse effects on the heart.
I've always been curious to try an inversion table, but I highly doubt it actually has any long lasting theraputic effect. I asked my chiro about them once, and she said they "don't treat the cause". Fair enough.
my dad, 51, has a herniated disc in his lower neck.....I finally talked him into using an inversion tabel and he's noticed a huge difference.
My Dr. recommend an inversion table to help with sciatica pain due to a herniated disc at L4/L5. Has anyone tried using an inversion table? Is is worth the expense?
I bought a cheaper model also, Russ66. So far I've been happy with it. If nothing else, it feels real good to stretch my back. It takes some time to be able to stay inclined for very long, but you don't need a whole lot of incline for it to work. You do not need to be totally upside down. I use about a 45 degree angle I think. I asked my doctor if they were just a scam but he said they do help some people. So far I feel like it does help me a little bit. I came home with pain in my neck last Friday, got on it, and had instant relief. That's the first time I got that instant relief though.
Inversion tables only work for lower back pain caused by a decrease in the gaps between the affected vertebrae. An inversion table is an expensive investment that may or may not be effective for you
I recently bought a Mastercare inversion table I like it, and it the decompression it gives to the lower back seems to help me (lower disc problems) The machine is not too comfortable on the feet and ankles, but that is not a huge problem. Each person should get an OK from their doctor before using this kind of device.
Can you recommend a model and/or source of inversion table and/or gravity boots? I want to take the pressure of my lower back for some time
I researched Inversion therapy and it is said to have been around since 400 BC.I bought one and just put it together and tried it,I've been on it several times already.AMAZING! Imagine a slinky sitting tight, inversion is like the slinky pulled apart. The relief is tremendous
Wanted to know if it's possible to injure your ankle or foot using the inversion table. In short, I use a 45 degree sit up bench where I hook my feet under some pads and recline at the 45 degree angle. I hung that way this morning for 11 minutes.
I have a buldging disc that is getting worse, so I am thinking about getting one myself to hopefully decompress the disc. If I knew it would actually work, I would get one today.
I have a friend who swears by his table said the thing is the best invention since bread period. My chiropractor had told me that they are good to use as long as you don't stay on it too long and that you have to work your way up on the time that you're on it. You might even get your insurance to pay for it. I say get it. I plan on getting one myself here soon.
