Special Issue on
Neurobiology of Chinese Herbal Medicine
Call for Papers

Chinese Herbal Medicine is one of the great herbal systems of the world, with an unbroken tradition going back to the third century BC. Yet, throughout its history it has continuously developed in response to changing clinical conditions and has been sustained by research into every aspect of its use. This process continues today with the development of mod- ern medical diagnostic technique and knowledge. Because of its systematic approach and clinical effectiveness, Chinese Herbal Medicine has for centuries had a very great influence on the theory and practice of medicine in the East and more recently has gained increasing acceptance and popularity in the West. Further, there is a surge in the Chinese Herbal Medicine research including neuroscience. We believe that there is a need to compile a special issue to summarize the recent development in Chinese Herbal Medicine and, in particular, the neurobiology of Chinese Herbal Medicine and that this will promote the understanding and enhance Chinese Herbal Medicine research in the future. We invite authors to contribute original as well as review articles. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
• Chinese Herbal Medicine and neuroendocrine regula- tion
